Helping to build the wall

Building a wall can be a very damaging and divisive idea. However, it can also be used as a metaphor in a positive sense. I often feel like clients come to counselling with bits of their wall (in a metaphor of self-esteem) needing repair. When people say things that hurt us or we feel like we’re letting friends and colleagues down a little bit of our wall might fall down and need some repair.

Often what we need from a counsellor is reassurance that we’re ok. Our wall might be missing a few fallen bricks but with some help we can rebuild and recover our self-esteem. We can feel better about ourselves and more confident that we’re doing our best often in very tricky situations. If your wall needs a bit of work and you need some help to rebuild then please get in touch.
